Actress Sahithi Dasari has entered politics by running as an independent candidate in the Chevella Constituency. This move comes amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, with many political leaders putting in their nomination papers. However, this time there is a new trend emerging as movie stars like Sahithi are also joining the political race.
Sahithi gained popularity in the Telugu film industry through her roles in the successful series Polimera. Her performances in ‘Polimera 1’ and ‘Polimera 2’ endeared her to Telugu audiences. After establishing herself as an actress, Sahithi has now decided to venture into politics by contesting for the Chevella parliamentary constituency seat in Rangareddy district.
A self-proclaimed fan of Pawan Kalyan, the leader of Janasena, Sahithi clarifies that the songs she shares on social media platforms are not political in nature. In the Chevella race, Sahithi faces competition from other candidates like Kasani Gyaneshwar, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy of the BJP, and Ranjith Reddy from Congress. Despite the tough competition, Sahithi is prepared for the challenge and has submitted her nomination papers to the Returning Officer, District Collector Shashank.
