Gadwal‘s District Additional Collector, Lakshmi Narayana, has urged rice millers to quickly deliver Custom Milled Rice (CMR) for the Kharif 2024–25 season. He stressed the importance of milling and supplying all pending rice stocks promptly to avoid any disruptions in government food programs.
On Wednesday, Lakshmi Narayana met with 37 rice millers at the IDOC office. The focus was on the progress of their CMR deliveries.
Lakshmi Narayana emphasized the need for continuous milling and supplying of paddy stored in the mills to meet government deadlines. The deadline for delivering Kharif 2024–25 rice has been extended to September 12, 2025.
Official figures show that out of 65,366 metric tonnes of paddy across 37 mills, 38,251 metric tonnes have been processed and delivered. He highlighted the need to supply the remaining rice within the given timeframe.
He stated that timely CMR delivery is essential for ensuring that food grains reach poor and eligible families through government welfare initiatives. He urged the millers to cooperate with the district administration to complete the delivery efficiently.
Lakshmi Narayana also instructed civil supplies officials to keep a close watch on stock levels in each mill and ensure adherence to milling and delivery schedules.
The meeting included DSO Swami Kumar, Civil Supplies District Manager Vimal, rice millers, and other officials.
