Airtel Plans to Establish Second Headquarters in Hyderabad, Chairman Tells CM Revanth Reddy

Bharti Enterprises is considering making Hyderabad its second headquarters, with plans to significantly expand its data centre capacity and fibre connectivity infrastructure in Telangana, chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal informed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a high-level meeting on Tuesday. The announcement was made at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion in Hyderabad, according to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy outlined the state government’s plans to establish a comprehensive data centre and artificial intelligence infrastructure campus in Telangana. He urged Bharti Airtel to expand its digital, cloud, cybersecurity and AI operations in the state capital. The Chief Minister emphasized that Telangana remains one of the country’s most preferred investment destinations due to its investor-friendly policies and progressive governance model.

Sunil Mittal responded positively to the government’s proposals, assuring that Bharti Enterprises was ready to increase its data centre capacity across Telangana. The Chief Minister specifically requested the company to expedite its proposed Chandanvelli data centre project and nominate a senior executive to coordinate with the state government on future investments and resolution of pending issues.

The Chief Minister also briefed Mittal on the state’s education and skilling reforms, which include the establishment of the Young India Skill University, the upgradation of industrial training institutes into advanced technology centres, and the development of polytechnic colleges. CM Revanth Reddy stated that these initiatives were specifically designed to improve employability among youth and support industry needs across the state.

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Mittal announced that the Bharti Foundation would provide scholarships to students in government schools and advanced tech centres in Telangana. This commitment aligns with the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support education and skill development across India.

The Chief Minister highlighted that his government remains committed to creating a business-friendly ecosystem that attracts global investors while accelerating employment generation in the state. He emphasized that Telangana’s progressive policies and infrastructure development initiatives position it as an ideal location for major technology and telecommunications companies to expand their operations.
