Awareness campaign on Malaria launched by DMHO

The district medical and health officer, Dr. Shashi Kala, led a rally to raise awareness about malaria on World Malaria Day. The rally, organized by the Health department, started from the DMHO office and went to the Old bus stand.

Dr. Shashi Kala emphasized the importance of following the World Health Organization’s instructions to eliminate malaria by 2030. She urged every household to have a dry day every Friday to check for potential mosquito breeding sites like empty vessels, used cups, and old tires. It is also important to cover water tanks and tanks with lids, and to avoid throwing plastic items into drainage canals.

To prevent mosquito bites, Dr. Shashi Kala recommended using mosquito nets on beds and installing netted screens on doors and windows. She also instructed health officials and Asha workers to organize dry days every Friday in towns and villages.

Various health professionals and coordinators, including Dr. Shravanti, Dr. G Raju, CHO Rama Krishna, and others, participated in the rally to support the cause.
