Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, expressed hope that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will bring former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to justice for alleged corruption and oppressive rule. He emphasized the faith people have in Revanth Reddy to act fairly.

In a casual conversation with media personnel on Saturday, Sanjay mentioned the misuse of power during Rao’s rule. He highlighted how BJP members, including himself, were jailed to suppress political opposition. Sanjay stated that if trust in Revanth Reddy diminishes, BJP will directly confront Congress, regardless of any potential alliance between Congress and BRS.

Sanjay dismissed rumors about BJP negotiating with BRS, labeling BRS as outdated. He stressed that court decisions, like bail for BRS MLC K Kavitha or former Delhi State Minister Manish Sisodia, are unrelated to BJP.

Criticizing the Congress-led state government, Sanjay said it mirrors the previous BRS regime. He pointed out that IAS officers who followed BRS’s lead are still in influential positions, while dedicated officers remain sidelined.

Sanjay noted that Congress has quickly gained unpopularity, predicting that the upcoming local elections will primarily see a contest between Congress and BJP. He criticized the state government for failing to fund panchayats, which rely on central funds. He urged people to consider which party will foster village development, highlighting that former state minister T Harish Rao acknowledged the central government’s role in funding panchayats.

Lastly, Sanjay advised for more respectful political criticism, dismissing claims that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy traveled to the USA for personal reasons. He clarified that BJP has no plans to disrupt the Congress government, leaving its political fate to its own actions.
