Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, is set to launch a new program to help students. This time, he will provide bicycles to Class X students in government schools within the Karimnagar parliamentary constituency. The initiative begins tomorrow.
Bandi Sanjay plans to distribute a total of 20,000 bicycles. A well-known bicycle company has been tasked with supplying these bikes, purchased using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The distribution will kick off at Karimnagar Ambedkar Stadium, where preparations are underway.
The event will start at 11 am with the distribution of bicycles to students in Karimnagar town. The stadium will feature 21 stalls adorned with colorful balloons and decorations.
The event will also see the presence of District Collector Pamela Satpati, City Police Commissioner Ghaus Alam, and other key officials from the district education department.
The distribution task has been assigned to the District Collector, who has compiled a list of eligible students using data from local education officers. The aim is to ensure every Class X student in government schools receives a bicycle within a month. This initiative is intended to ease transportation challenges faced by students, who often lack affordable travel options to school and back, especially for attending extra classes after regular hours.
Bandi Sanjay has consistently supported both the medical and education sectors on his birthday. Previously, he donated medical equipment worth Rs 2 crore to district government hospitals in the Karimnagar Parliament constituency and nearby areas. He also launched the ‘Sanjay Suraksha’ initiative, providing ambulances and essential medical supplies to various hospitals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he personally visited patients, offering consultations and ensuring they received necessary medicines and protective gear.
