The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team, along with Saifabad Police Station staff, successfully apprehended three drug peddlers near the IMAX open ground in Hyderabad during a late-night operation. The accused were found illegally procuring and supplying narcotics in the city.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd. Gulam Jilani (42 years), Suleman Khan (22 years), and Feroz Bin Ali alias Sahil (20 years). The police seized 100 grams of Brown Sugar, 1,350 grams of Dry Ganja, seven mobile phones, and one Honda Motorcycle from their possession. The total value of the seized contraband and property is estimated at approximately ₹23.50 lakh.
Mohd. Gulam Jilani, a private employee residing in Medchal and native of Jharkhand, allegedly acted as the main supplier. Feroz Bin Ali, an unemployed youth from Attapur, and Suleman Khan, an AC technician also from Attapur, were reportedly involved in selling the drugs to consumers.
During interrogation, Feroz and Suleman confessed to purchasing Brown Sugar from Jilani at ₹5,000 per gram and selling it to consumers for ₹8,000 to ₹10,000 per gram. They admitted to selling three grams of Brown Sugar to one Mohd. Ahmed on November 4, 2025, who subsequently died due to drug overdose. A case was registered in Cr. No. 1205/2025 U/S 194 BNSS at Rajendranagar Police Station, Cyberabad.
Jilani revealed he turned to drug peddling due to financial difficulties. Four months ago, he established contact with one Afsar, a native of Odisha, who facilitated the procurement. In October, Jilani traveled to Odisha and, along with Afsar, procured 115 grams of Brown Sugar and 1,350 grams of Dry Ganja for ₹3.5 lakh. He supplied 15 grams to Suleman and Feroz with instructions to sell at premium rates, offering them a commission of ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 per gram.
The apprehended individuals and seized property were handed over to the Station House Officer, Saifabad Police Station for further legal action. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.
