BJP leaders visited the Sunkishala project in Nagarjunasagar, Nalgonda district, to inspect the damage caused by a recent sidewall collapse. This incident was due to heavy inflow from the Krishna River, leading to significant losses.
Sirpur MLA, Palvai Harish Babu, accused Mega Engineering India Limited of substandard construction work on the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 2300 crore. He raised concerns about who should be responsible for the losses caused by the unauthorized opening of the middle tunnel.
Harish Babu criticized former opposition leader Revanth Reddy for not addressing the alleged misconduct by Mega Engineering and its leader, Krishna Reddy, following the accident. He called for a comprehensive CBI investigation into the project and Mega Engineering’s work across the state to uncover the truth.
The visit included several BJP leaders and activists, such as Legislative Party leaders Eleti Maheshwar Reddy, MLC AVN Reddy, Rama Rao Patel, and Nalgonda district BJP president Dr. Nagam Varshit Reddy.
