BJP faces setback in J-Hills as senior leader quits

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faced a challenge before the Jubilee Hills by-election as Cherka Mahesh, a former joint convenor, left the party on Saturday.

Mahesh, an influential local figure, accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of secretly teaming up with BJP leaders to mislead the people of Telangana instead of addressing them directly. He claimed that both the BJP and Congress had worked together to trick the public on issues related to Backward Classes reservations. Additionally, he criticized BJP for staying silent on the difficulties faced by farmers, youth, women, and Backward Classes in the state. “I cannot remain in a party like this,” Mahesh expressed in his resignation letter to BJP State President N R.
