Karimnagar: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar joined a large protest at Ambedkar Square in Husnabad. The protest was held against the BJP, following Enforcement Directorate (ED) charge sheets filed against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Many Congress workers and leaders from affiliated groups such as the Youth Congress, NSUI, and Mahila Congress took part in the protest. They came from seven mandals in the Husnabad constituency. The participants accused the BJP of using the ED to harass Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
Minister Prabhakar stated that after the AICC plenary meeting held in Gujarat, the Congress party has been standing up against policies that hurt the public. He said that the BJP is targeting senior Congress leaders through false cases because it feels threatened by Congress’s growing support.
He also mentioned that the National Herald newspaper once played an important role in India’s freedom movement and criticized the Modi government for handing over public sector businesses like LIC, airports, ports, and railways to private companies such as Adani and Ambani.
The minister added that the Nehru family, which has made great sacrifices for the country, is now being mistreated by the central government. He said every Congress worker and citizen condemns this harassment and stands with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He urged them not to lose hope, assuring that the country supports them.
