BRS announces support for JDS in upcoming Karna polls

The announcement of the schedule for Assembly elections in Karnataka has sparked political activity in the state. BRS chief K Chandrashekar is working on plans to support the friendly party JD(S) in assembly constituencies bordering the two states. While KCR initially considered campaigning in border constituencies, he has decided to send a team of senior leaders to constituencies with a large Telugu population that could tilt the balance in favor of JD(S). KCR hopes that JD(S) winning seats in these constituencies will have a significant impact on the next Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. BRS is making efforts to emerge as a national alternative.

Senior leaders from Medak and Zaheerabad Lok Sabha segments will campaign in assembly segments dominated by Telugu voters in Raichur, Bidar, Gulbarga, and Yadgir. BRS leaders from these border districts have good relations with Telugu voters and can explain the Telangana model of development, which JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy also appreciated and expressed a desire to implement in Karnataka if his party comes to power.

The Congress high command has also appointed senior leader D Sridhar Babu as party in-charge for more than 40 assembly segments, with Telangana Congress leaders Jetti Kusuma Kumar and former MP Ponnam Prabhkar, TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, M Ravi, and other senior leaders participating in the party campaign. The Congress hopes to come to power and believes that it would help the party in Telangana polls as well.

Meanwhile, the T-BJP is also preparing to jump into the campaign fray, with a team of BJP leaders led by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy visiting Karnataka soon. They hope that a BJP victory in Karnataka would help them in the TS assembly elections where they want to take on BRS.
