Sports help bring villages together, said BRS leader Basu Hanumanthu Naidu. He made this statement while inaugurating a Premier League Cricket Tournament during the Sri Sri Sri Tikka Tata Jatara celebrations in Gorlakhan Doddi village, Gattu Mandal, Gadwal constituency. The event took place on Sunday and was attended by enthusiastic BRS party members, sports lovers, and local youth.

Basu Hanumanthu Naidu officially opened the tournament by breaking a coconut and cutting a ribbon. During his speech, he stressed the importance of sports in rural areas and motivated young athletes to aim high, from village-level competitions to the national stage. He encouraged participants to work hard and bring recognition to the Gadwal region through their sports achievements.

He also advised young people to balance both education and sports, as both are essential for a successful future. “Winning and losing are part of the game. No one should be discouraged by defeat or become too proud of victory. Play with friendship in mind and see every loss as a step toward success,” he said.

Naidu further spoke about the efforts of the BRS-led government under former CM KCR, stating that it had played a significant role in developing sports in Telangana.

The event was attended by several key leaders and sports supporters. Among them were former Single Window President Angadi Baswaraju, former MPTC members Bojjayya Naidu and Venkatanna Goud, S. Ramu Naidu, and former Sarpanch Kurva Thimmappa. Other local leaders such as Sri Ramulu, Muni Mourya, Rayapuram Veeresh, and Guduse Narasimhulu were also present. Many BRS activists, youth members, and Shivaji Youth Group members actively participated in the event.

The tournament, organized as part of the Sri Sri Sri Tikka Tata Jatara, aims to promote sportsmanship, encourage youth participation, and strengthen unity among villages through competitive cricket matches.
