According to Vinod Kumar, the Centre introduced a Constitutional Amendment Bill in Parliament to enable simultaneous elections for both the Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies across the country. However, the Bill does not specify a particular date for implementing ONOE.

He pointed out that the government is attempting to include a new provision, Article 82A, in the Constitution. This article mentions that the proposed amendment would take effect starting the first day of the new Lok Sabha in 2029.
