Hyderabad: There is a lot of speculation within the party about whether the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will finally approve the Cabinet expansion and announce the name of the new Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president. This question has gained importance as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, and Deepadas Munshi are set to visit New Delhi. They are scheduled to meet AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and other senior leaders on Friday.
Uttam Kumar Reddy will attend the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting of the AICC. After this, Revanth will have discussions with other party leaders. During these talks, Revanth is expected to explain the status of the loan waiver scheme and the implementation of the promises made by the party during the elections. Additionally, Revanth will extend invitations to Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi to attend the inauguration of a statue of Rajiv Gandhi, which is currently being planned.
The Chief Minister is eager for the high command to announce the new PCC president soon. This is especially important because the party needs to prepare for upcoming local body elections. According to insider sources, the high command is seriously considering MLA Adloori Laxman Kumar for the position. Laxman Kumar belongs to the SC community and has the support of leaders like D Sridhar Babu, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Jeevan Reddy.
However, Laxman Kumar is not the only contender for the post. Other strong candidates include MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud, PCC campaign committee chairman Madhu Yashki Goud, MP Balram Naik, and former MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav. The final decision is eagerly awaited by all party members.
