    The 2-day Deccan Club 1st Telangana State elite Chess Championship 2023 started on Saturday in Hyderabad. The event was inaugurated by DGP Anjani Kumar and has around 90 players participating, including State-level champions.

    Ediga Anjaneya Goud, Chairman Sports Authority of Telangana State, praised the efforts of Deccan Club for organizing various sports activities in his address at the inaugural event.

    Anjani Kumar encouraged the players to bring glory to the country by improving their skills and performing well in international chess tournaments. He also commended the Deccan Club and Telangana Chess Association for their role in promoting sports in the State.

    Anil Kumar, president of Deccan Club, stated that the club, which has a history of 123 years, will continue its legacy of promoting sports.
