    On Thursday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao visited Khammam district to assess the crop damage caused by untimely hailstorm rains. He arrived at Ravinuthala village in Bonakallu Mandal and interacted with farmers, including V Rama Krishna, a tenant maize farmer who lost 15 acres due to the rains.

    The hailstorm rains have caused significant damage to crops in the mandals of Konijerla, Bonakallu, and Mudigonda. Among the affected crops, maize suffered the most damage, with 30,792 acres damaged out of a total of 31,027 acres.

    A preliminary report has been completed by officers and submitted to the government. According to the report, 19,552 farmers were affected by the crop damage, with green gram, tomato, and sorghum also suffering losses.

    During his visit, CM KCR was accompanied by left party leaders Tammineni Veerabhadram and Kusamneni Sambasiva Rao, Rajya Sabha MPs Santosh Kumar and Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Minister Ajay Kumar, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, and Chief Secretary Santha Kumari.
