Chief Minister requests assistance from Amit Shah for funding to upgrade intelligence departments

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of Telangana met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. He asked for funds to modernize the state’s Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Cyber Security Bureau, as well as more IPS posts. Reddy also discussed the need for security force camps in districts affected by left-wing extremism.

To control drug and cyber crimes, the CM requested Rs 88 crore for the Anti-Narcotics Bureau and Rs 90 crore for the Cyber Security Bureau. He also asked for a review of IPS cadre every five years, as Telangana needs more IPS posts than it currently has. Reddy requested an additional 29 IPS posts for the state.

The CM highlighted the need for security force camps in Adilabad, Mancherial, and Komaram-Bheem Asifabad districts to combat left-wing extremism. He also requested CRPF JTF camps in Kondavai village of Charla mandal and Alubaka village of Venkatapuram mandal to eliminate the Maoist special unit.

Reddy discussed long-pending issues related to the Reorganisation Act with Shah. He urged for a harmonious resolution of disputes over government buildings and corporations listed in the Act. The CM emphasized the importance of justice for Telangana in disputes with Andhra Pradesh over assets and institutions not mentioned in the Act.
