Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to quickly repair roads, buildings, ponds, and an electric substation damaged by recent heavy rains and floods. He criticized officials for not properly using the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). The CM also questioned the lack of central assistance for the Khammam and Warangal districts, which suffered significant losses last year.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will lead a team to present two reports to Union Ministers in Delhi on September 4. These reports will cover recent rain damages.
The Chief Minister asked for a detailed report on unfulfilled promises by the center, pending central funds, and losses in sectors like Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, Roads and Buildings, Panchayati Raj, Rural Water Supply, Health, and Electricity. Officials reported that 257 streams and ponds were damaged. The CM emphasized restoring these water bodies using funds from RRR, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sanchai Yojana, and other central schemes.
Agriculture department officials reported crop losses over 2.36 lakh acres in 82 mandals. The CM instructed them to provide complete details within two days to highlight the issue to the Centre.
