On National Deworming Day, 2,03,259 children aged 1 to 19 years in Nagarkurnool district received Albendazole 400 mg tablets. This event took place on Monday and was officially started at the Telangana Social Welfare Gurukul Boys College in Achampet. District Collector Badavat Santosh attended as the main guest.
The Collector highlighted the impact of intestinal worms, mentioning they can lead to anemia, stunted growth, fatigue, and poor concentration. To prevent these problems, the government provides deworming tablets every year. He advised students to practice good personal hygiene, keep their fingernails clean, and maintain clean surroundings to prevent worm infections.
After the event, the Collector reviewed the college’s kitchen, essential supplies, and storage areas. He expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the state government to succeed in life.
Deputy DM&HO Dr. Tara Singh, along with Gurukul school teachers and others, also attended the event.
