Bibinagar (Yadadri-Bhongir): Children should take care of their parents and never neglect them, said Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy. On Wednesday, he and Bhuvanagiri MLA Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy opened a new elderly shelter home in Bibinagar, which was built with the help of donors.

During the event, Gutta spoke about the importance of spreading awareness about laws that protect and support senior citizens. He said the government has increased the Aarogyasri health coverage to ₹10 lakhs for elderly people. He also mentioned that the government is thinking about replacing the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund with health insurance for everyone. This step could ease the worries of those who feel their aging parents are a burden.

Gutta said the state government is already giving pensions to 40 lakh senior citizens, and they are working to support people from all sections of society. He also said there were serious discussions in the Assembly and Council about helping families in difficult situations.
