Hyderabad is making big changes to improve how people move around the city. On Tuesday, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan checked on the work near KBR Park, a major area set for upgrades under the Hyderabad City Innovative & Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) plan.
The H-CITI initiative aims to ease traffic, improve safety, and upgrade city infrastructure. Around KBR Park, seven important junctions will get new flyovers totaling 4.6 km and underpasses stretching 2.8 km. These changes will help reduce heavy traffic in one of Hyderabad’s busiest spots.
Commissioner Karnan visited the area from Jubilee Hills Road No. 2 to Jubilee Hills Check Post to see how things are progressing. He urged officials to speed up land acquisition and start construction quickly while maintaining high standards. He emphasized working closely with the Traffic Police to manage traffic effectively and minimize disruptions for travelers. Khairtabad Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, and Jubilee Hills Deputy Commissioner V Sammaiah joined the inspection.
RV Karnan highlighted the city’s dedication to sustainable growth, saying these projects show Hyderabad’s focus on safer and smoother commutes. Recently, he also held a three-hour meeting to instruct engineering officials to create clear timelines for projects under H-CITI and the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP).
