Hyderabad: Chief Minister KCR has launched the nineteenth phase of the Haritha Haram (Green Necklace) program for Telangana. As part of the Telangana Decade Celebrations, which is being celebrated throughout the state, today marks the Harithotsavam (Green Festival). CM KCR inaugurated the planting of saplings in the Thummaloor Urban Forest Park as part of this program. The event was attended by ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Indrakaran Reddy, MP Ranjith Reddy, Rachakonda CP Chauhan, and other senior government officials.
Before that, CM KCR toured the parks in a safari vehicle and inaugurated the photo exhibition and distributed equipment to forest officials. Later, at the open-air meeting held at the B.T.R Cricket Stadium, CM KCR addressed the gathering. The government aims to plant 19.29 crore saplings across the state as part of the nineteenth phase of Haritha Haram.
CM KCR has succeeded in instilling a sense of nature conservation among every individual in Telangana society. His continuous efforts in agriculture and afforestation have resulted in a green and prosperous Telangana over the past decade. The state has transformed 273.33 crore acres of land into forests and is providing oxygen and happiness to people. The success of Haritha Telangana lies in the determination of the government and the people’s participation. The government has spent INR 10,822 crore for this initiative.
