Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently spoke at a “Meet the Press” event in Hyderabad. He criticized former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his dictatorial rule and economic policies that harmed Telangana State. Revanth Reddy compared KCR to the autocratic Nizam rulers, saying that the people of Telangana do not tolerate oppression.
Revanth Reddy accused KCR of imprisoning poets, writers, and artists to boost his own popularity. He claimed that KCR acted like a modern-day Nizam and suppressed anyone who opposed him. However, Revanth Reddy stated that after the Congress government came to power, the people of Telangana experienced freedom and transparency in governance.
The Chief Minister emphasized that his government is focused on serving the public, not ruling over them. He mentioned that the administration has been decentralized to ensure transparency and fairness. Revanth Reddy also addressed concerns about the Rythu Bharosa benefit and reiterated that it will not be extended to hillocks and mountains to prevent misuse of funds.
Regarding former BSP leader RS Praveen Kumar joining forces with KCR for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Revanth Reddy expressed respect for him. He revealed that Praveen declined an offer to become TSPSC Chairman from the Congress government and hinted that Praveen’s decision to join KCR’s party may have consequences.
