Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a strong warning to traders, stating that strict action will be taken if farmers are harassed during the paddy procurement process. He instructed officials to address any issues faced by farmers at the procurement centers.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that action could be taken under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) if traders are found causing trouble. This statement came after the CM received reports of farmers facing difficulties in different parts of the state.
Officials have been directed to be vigilant against incidents such as cheating, misleading, or harassing farmers during paddy procurement. The CM emphasized the need to protect farmers’ interests and ensure a smooth process.
Additionally, the Chief Minister advised district Collectors to take appropriate steps to make sure the paddy procurement goes smoothly across the state. He urged district authorities to immediately contact higher officials if any problems arise and resolve the issues promptly.
