Gadwal‘s District Collector B. M. Santosh has promised fair compensation for farmers losing land to the Bharatmala National Highway Project. The government is taking steps to ensure that farmers receive legal compensation.
On Friday, the Collector met with farmers from Bingidoddi and Jadadoddi villages at the IDOC Conference Hall. These farmers’ lands were taken for the National Highway development.
Farmers shared their worries during the meeting. Collector Santosh assured them that the government aims to fairly compensate every affected farmer. Talks are ongoing with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to increase compensation and secure more funds.
Farmers highlighted problems with the service road. The Collector promised to re-evaluate and improve the road if needed to help the farmers.
He thanked the farmers for their cooperation, stating it helped move the project forward. He hopes for continued support to finish the remaining work quickly.
Many local farmers and stakeholders affected by the project attended the meeting.
This meeting is a key effort to connect authorities with landowners, ensuring development respects citizens’ rights and well-being.
