Gadwal: The focus is on boosting hospital births and improving maternal health in public hospitals.
District Collector B.M. Santosh made a surprise visit to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Maldakal mandal on Wednesday to push for better maternal health and more hospital births.
He checked healthcare services and talked with medical staff, emphasizing the need for better outpatient care to ensure patients get timely treatment.
He stressed the importance of maternal health, advising health officials to focus on pregnant women’s well-being. High-risk pregnancies should be identified early, and necessary precautions should be taken to avoid issues.
The Collector encouraged staff to increase normal deliveries within the PHC area. He highlighted achieving complete registration and antenatal check-ups for all expecting mothers and maintaining a full stock of essential medicines.
He also insisted on keeping hospital records organized and urged staff to prevent seasonal disease outbreaks during the monsoon.
Health staff were instructed to speed up blood, urine, and other tests for timely diagnosis and treatment. He also reviewed the construction of a new yoga center for pregnant women, urging swift completion.
The Collector called on health officers and staff to work diligently to provide quality healthcare.
District Medical Officer Siddappa, Dr. Swaroopa Rani, and other medical personnel were present during the visit.
