The ruling Congress in Hyderabad questioned why the BRS government has not investigated allegations of phone tapping by the previous Kiran Kumar Reddy government during its nearly decade-long rule. Party leaders criticized the BRS regime for not only continuing the practice but also increasing surveillance on the Opposition.
Ministers D Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and MLC B Mahesh Kumar Goud briefed the media about preparations for a public meeting at Tukkuguda. They stated that the Congress was ready to respond to any legal notices. They emphasized that Telangana was created to fulfill people’s aspirations, but the previous government stifled democratic voices and increased snooping on the Opposition.
Ponnam Prabhakar criticized KTR for not investigating claims of phone tapping and instead supporting the practice for political gain. Sridhar Babu mentioned preparations for the Tukkuguda public meeting where the Congress will unveil the party Manifesto. PCC chief and CM A Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with candidates and in-charges of Parliament constituencies.
Lakhs of people are expected to attend the public meeting where Sonia Gandhi declared 6 guarantees during the Assembly elections in September. Later, Revanth Reddy inspected the venue with Ministers and party leaders to ensure everything is ready for the event.
