Congress and BRS candidates launch bold campaign in Cantonment

In preparation for the upcoming bye-elections in Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency, BRS candidate Lasya Nivedita and Congress candidate N Sri Ganesh have started a political campaign to address unresolved issues in the area. They are visiting every household in the Cantonment to connect with residents.

Both Nivedita and Sri Ganesh, key candidates of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), are making an effort to engage with locals in all parts of the constituency. Recently, Nivedita campaigned in Ward-6 while Sri Ganesh campaigned in Ward-3.

Residents have expressed their concerns about merging SCB with GHMC and emphasized the need for better healthcare and education facilities. The candidates promised to prioritize the establishment of more educational institutions and health centers, as there is currently only one government hospital in the Cantonment.

Following the tragic death of SCB MLA Lasya Nanditha in a road accident, bye-elections were announced to fill the vacant seat. The polls will take place on May 13, coinciding with the Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress has nominated N Sri Ganesh, a recent party joiner with strong ties to the local community, while BRS has chosen Lasya Nivedita, daughter of former five-time MLA G Sayanna, as their candidate. Dr TN Vamshi Tilak has been selected by the BJP.

Nivedita expressed confidence in her ability to win from the BRS ticket, citing her experience with Cantonment issues through her father’s tenure. Sri Ganesh emphasized his commitment to developing the Cantonment and utilizing MLA funds effectively during his campaign at Lal Bazar.
