Gautham Yadav, brother to Naveen Yadav, who is the Congress candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election, has switched to the BRS party. This change took place on Wednesday, October 22.
KT Rama Rao (KTR), the BRS working president, officially welcomed Gautham by placing the party’s pink scarf around him. Other senior leaders like Talasani Sai Yadav and Nagesh Mudiraj were also present at the event.
Gautham and Naveen are cousins. Gautham is the son of Pedda Srisailam Yadav, while Naveen’s father is Chinna Srisailam Yadav.
The Congress had announced Naveen Yadav as their candidate on October 7 for the Jubilee Hills by-election. However, Naveen recently faced trouble for allegedly distributing Electoral Photo Identity Cards to voters, which violated the Model Code of Conduct.
The by-election in Jubilee Hills is scheduled for November 11, with the vote counting set for November 14. This election follows the passing of BRS leader G Maganti in June due to a heart attack.
The BRS has chosen Maganti Sunitha, the late leader’s wife, as their candidate for this bypoll.
