Hyderabad: On Saturday, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) set up a legal advisory group focused on BC reservations. This group includes Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Seethakka.
The decision came after a Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, AICC state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, and PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that the ministerial committee must report on BC reservations in local bodies by August 26, consulting legal and constitutional experts.
Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka informed the media that the BC Reservation Bill has moved from the Governor to the President, where it faces delays. The High Court has mandated elections by September 31. To address this, the PAC decided on forming the committee and aims to receive the report by the 26th.
The PAC also decided that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his cabinet will join Rahul Gandhi‘s ‘vote adhikar yatra’ on August 26. The PAC resolved that the delegation, led by CM Revanth Reddy, will visit Bihar to support Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra against vote theft, which allegedly benefits the BJP. Rahul Gandhi has highlighted these issues with video evidence.
The PAC expressed sorrow over the passing of Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, a prominent figure with Leftist ideology. They honored his contributions from his student leadership days to his role as National General Secretary of CPI, offering prayers for his soul’s peace.
