In Gadwal, the Congress Party in Iza town celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm at their town center office.
Mandal Congress President Uttanooru Jayanna kicked off the event by raising the national flag. Afterward, Town Congress President Madhu Kumar conducted puja rituals to mark the occasion.
Dodappa, the Market Yard Chairman, attended as the chief guest. He spoke about the importance of Independence Day, emphasizing the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. He encouraged everyone to maintain unity, democracy, and national service.
The celebration saw participation from several notable Congress figures. These included SC Cell District President Maddileti, veteran leader R. Sridhar, representative Minor Babu, and Market Director Sulochanamma. Former councillors Gittala Devaraju and Raj Narayan, along with leaders like Devendra, Bhaskar Goud, Lakshman, Mahaboob Pasha, Kaza, Ravinder, Devanna, Thimmapa, P. Narsinlu, and Chanti Reddy were also present.
The event drew in local party workers, media, and residents. Together, they hoisted the flag, sang patriotic songs, and honored the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom.
The day ended with a shared commitment from leaders and participants to improve community welfare and uphold democratic values.
