The political situation in Manikonda municipality in Rangareddy district is tense, with a lack of confidence between the chairman and councillors. The situation is also not favorable with the Congress leadership in Rajendra Nagar constituency.

The chairman, Kasturi Narendar, recently faced a ‘No-confidence Motion’ against him, but he did not have enough support from the council members. This has raised concerns about his political career.

Despite the opposition’s attempt to remove him, Kasturi managed to hold onto his position as chairman. However, with only eight out of 20 council members supporting him, his position remains precarious.

The rule requires a two-thirds vote to move a no-confidence motion against the chairman, which is equivalent to 13 votes. Currently, the opposition falls short of this number, allowing Kasturi to stay in power.

Kasturi’s leadership abilities and lack of support beyond Manikonda have been criticized by party leaders. His defeat in the recent elections as a Congress candidate has further weakened his position.

With growing dissent among party leaders and limited support from councillors, Kasturi will have to navigate carefully to maintain his position as chairman.
