Ahead of the parliamentary elections in Nalgonda, two major political parties were vying for the support of the people. The BRS party, led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, held a large meeting at 3 pm. A few hours earlier, Congress leaders and supporters organized a smaller public meeting to express their fervent response.

The protest took place at the Clock Tower Centre in the town. Local Congress leaders spoke about the unfulfilled promises made by KCR during his ten-year tenure as Chief Minister from 2014 to 2023. DCC President Shankar Naik, Nalgonda Town President Gummula Mohan Reddy, Municipal Chairman and Vice-Chairmans Burri Srinivas Reddy and Abbagoni Ramesh actively participated in the event, which was themed ‘KCR Dagulbaji Hemeelu, Congress Nijala Nivedika.’

The purpose of the gathering was to highlight KCR’s unmet commitments, particularly those related to pending irrigation projects in Nalgonda. A large LED screen displayed video clips of KCR’s promises and slogans denouncing his perceived betrayal towards Nalgonda district. As a symbolic gesture, a special chair with KCR’s photo on a pink towel was arranged to remind everyone of his past statement pledging personal oversight of all pending projects.

During the meeting, Naik and Gummula criticized KCR for not fulfilling promises such as the completion of the SLBC tunnel, Brahmmana Vellemla, and other important projects during his tenure.
