Hyderabad: Minister Sridhar Babu has hit back at BJP leader Bandi Sanjay’s comments about the MLC election loss. Bandi Sanjay had called the Congress party’s defeat a “Ramzan gift.” In response, Sridhar Babu stated that Congress would give a “return gift” in the next elections.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan alongside former MLC T Jeevan Reddy, Sridhar Babu said that Congress had already given BJP several “return gifts” and would continue to do so in the future. He blamed the MLC poll loss on the BRS party, alleging that there was a secret alliance between BJP and BRS. According to him, both parties worked together to defeat the Congress candidate in the MLC elections.
Sridhar Babu questioned why BRS did not nominate a candidate for the MLC polls. He demanded that BRS leaders explain their decision to the people of Telangana. He also suggested that the so-called “Ramzan gift” might have been a joint effort between BJP and BRS.
Meanwhile, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also criticized Bandi Sanjay’s remarks. He said that a Union Minister of State should not engage in religious politics. Venkat Reddy also reminded the BJP government at the Centre of its unfulfilled promises, such as bringing back black money and creating two crore jobs per year. He pointed out that instead of reducing unemployment, the BJP government had failed to provide enough jobs. He demanded that Bandi Sanjay answer these concerns.
