Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghurama Reddy announced that only those who have actively contributed to the Congress party will receive positions in the district. He highlighted the importance of transparency and dedication, promising representation for marginalized groups like SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities.
At a Wednesday meeting at Kothagudem Club, organized to collect applications for the Bhadradri Kothagudem District Congress Committee (DCC) president role, MP Raghurama Reddy stressed that loyalty and commitment are key party values. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) directed the event, with AICC observer Johnson Abraham and TPCC leaders like district president Podem Veerayya in attendance.
Raghurama Reddy thanked those who supported Congress before recent elections, assuring them that their efforts are remembered. He called on party members to stay united as local elections approach, emphasizing that, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the Congress will choose deserving candidates transparently.
During the selection process, many leaders submitted applications for the DCC president position, with feedback gathered from local cadres to ensure fairness. Johnson Abraham noted that no other party uses such a participatory method for leadership selection, calling it a historic step by Congress. The applications and feedback will be reviewed by the PCC before announcing the DCC president.
The event was well-attended by numerous Congress leaders, public figures, and grassroots workers from the district.
