    The Commissioner of Police, L Subbarayudu, recently spoke at a programme in Karimnagar about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. He stated that this behaviour will be treated as a serious crime as it has been found to lead to accidents, resulting in severe head injuries and even death.

    Recently, motorists caught drinking alcohol were counselled in the presence of their family members at the open theater premises of the commissionerate. Speaking on the occasion, Subbarayudu emphasised that it is considered shameful to be caught driving while drinking alcohol. He explained that accidents happen when the brain is not functioning properly and the body is under the control of alcohol.

    Subbarayudu also warned that criminal cases will be registered against those caught driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time. Furthermore, their licenses may be cancelled and they may face difficulties in obtaining job opportunities and passports.

    He went on to say that most road accidents are caused by rash driving, triple riding, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Subbarayudu also clarified that cases will be registered under IPC sections as well as MV Act cases against parents and vehicle owners who give vehicles to minors. He urged parents to think twice before giving their vehicles to minors.

    In conclusion, Subbarayudu’s speech highlights the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and emphasises the importance of responsible driving to prevent accidents and save lives.
