The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a political party in India, has recently called for the removal of Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, due to his failure in filling vacancies in Telangana. The CPI has accused Pradhan of neglecting the state and not taking the necessary steps to ensure that vacant positions in various government-owned companies are filled promptly.

The CPI’s demand for Pradhan’s removal stems from the fact that Telangana has been suffering from a lack of employment opportunities for its citizens. The state’s unemployment rate has been steadily rising over the years, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the situation. According to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), Telangana’s unemployment rate stood at 8.9% in June 2021, which is higher than the national average of 7.9%.

The CPI has alleged that Pradhan has not taken any concrete steps to address this issue. They claim that there are several vacancies in government-owned companies such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) that have not been filled for a long time. The CPI has also accused Pradhan of not responding to their repeated requests to fill these vacancies.

The CPI’s demand for Pradhan’s removal has gained support from other political parties in Telangana. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Congress have also criticized Pradhan for his alleged negligence towards the state. They have demanded that the central government take immediate action to address the issue of unemployment in Telangana.

In response to these allegations, Pradhan has stated that his ministry is committed to creating employment opportunities in Telangana and other parts of the country. He has also claimed that the process of filling vacancies in government-owned companies is a time-consuming one and that his ministry is taking all necessary steps to expedite the process.

The CPI’s demand for Pradhan’s removal highlights the growing concern over unemployment in Telangana. The state government and the central government need to work together to address this issue and create more job opportunities for the people of Telangana. It is essential to fill vacant positions in government-owned companies promptly and take other measures to boost employment in the state. Only then can we hope to tackle the problem of unemployment in Telangana effectively.
