    CS Santhi Kumari, the Principal Secretary of Health, Medical and Family Welfare in Telangana, recently expressed her satisfaction with the implementation of the Kanti Velugu program in the state. The program, which was launched by the government in 2018, aims to provide comprehensive eye care services to all residents of Telangana.

    Under the Kanti Velugu program, free eye screening camps are conducted across the state to identify individuals with vision problems. The program also provides free spectacles to those in need and refers patients with serious eye conditions for further treatment.

    According to CS Santhi Kumari, the program has been successful in reaching out to a large number of people in Telangana. In a recent interview, she stated that over 5.5 crore people in the state have been screened for eye problems under the Kanti Velugu program.

    The program has also been successful in identifying a large number of individuals with vision problems. According to CS Santhi Kumari, over 40 lakh people have been identified with refractive errors such as myopia and hyperopia, while over 1 lakh people have been identified with cataract.

    The Kanti Velugu program has also been successful in providing free spectacles to those in need. According to CS Santhi Kumari, over 30 lakh spectacles have been distributed under the program so far.

    In addition to providing free eye care services, the Kanti Velugu program also aims to create awareness about the importance of eye health among the people of Telangana.
