The IPS Association of Telangana has recently released a statement regarding the derogatory comment made by Sri Raghunandan Rao, Hon’ble MLA, against DGP Sri Anjani Kumar on 5.4.2023. The comment was made in reference to the preventive arrest of Sri Bandi Sanjay, Hon’ble MP, LS, Karimnagar, by Karimnagar Police.

The IPS Association has condemned the statement made by Sri Raghunandan Rao and has requested the Hon’ble Speaker of the Assembly to take firm disciplinary action against him. The use of unparliamentary language against a senior government functionary is highly unbecoming and unhealthy in a democratic set up.

Such disparaging remarks are also highly demoralizing for the entire police force of Telangana, which is working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the public and maintain law and order in the state. The IPS Association believes that such irresponsible statements from legislators can have a negative impact on the morale of the police force and can hinder their efforts to maintain law and order.
