DHA Chief Vedakumar Manikonda expresses condolences over the death of ‘Siasat’ journalist in Hyderabad

Deccan Heritage Academy chairman Prof. Vedakumar Manikonda has expressed his deepest condolences on the sudden death of Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, the Managing Editor of Siasat daily. Khan passed away from a heart attack while participating in Gaddar’s funeral procession.

Prof. Vedakumar, who had a long association with Khan, praised his contributions to journalism. He mentioned that Khan revolutionized Urdu journalism by embracing the latest technology. Khan was known for his soft-spoken nature and was respected in society. He actively participated in social awareness programs that focused on the welfare of the underprivileged.

Vedakumar also highlighted Khan’s achievements as a social worker. Khan established the Minority Development Forum and provided free healthcare to slumdwellers. He also offered skill training for poor women and conducted spoken English classes. Vedakumar described Khan’s death as an irreparable loss to the field of journalism.

Vedakumar extended his deepest condolences to Khan’s family and wished them strength during this difficult time. He had accompanied Khan in the funeral procession of Gaddar until it reached his house.
