Wanaparthy District:
A road safety meeting was held on Thursday, led by the District Collector, and organized by the Roads Concepts Department. This meeting was part of the department’s quarterly schedule. However, some officials did not attend the meeting, and as a result, they were issued a show cause notice. The Executive Engineer of the Roads and Buildings Department was instructed to arrange a complete meeting next week.
During the meeting, the District Collector asked for written reports on the decisions made in the previous meeting regarding road safety. These reports were to include details about the dangerous black spots identified on the national highway, the safety measures implemented, and actions taken against riders not wearing helmets or vehicles exceeding speed limits.
Several key officials took part in the meeting, including Roads Buildings Executive Engineer Deshya Naik, Panchayat Raj Executive Engineer Malliah, DSP Krishna Kishore, R.T.O. Manasa, and a National Highway Department Officer.
