The National Security Advisors’ meeting was held in New Delhi on Wednesday, with NSA Ajit Doval stating that the global security landscape is facing numerous challenges due to recent developments. These challenges have also impacted the SCO region, with the charter calling for mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. India became a member of SCO in June 2017, with relations with SCO countries dating back several centuries. Doval emphasized that terrorism in all its forms and financing is a serious threat to the region, and any act of terrorism is unjustifiable. The SCO charter focuses on maintaining and developing relations with other states and international organizations, as well as cooperating in the prevention of international conflicts. Doval thanked the top delegates for accepting his invitation to the meeting, stating that their participation will enrich discussions and prepare the ground for a successful summit in a few months. Connectivity remains a key priority for India.
