Dr. K Laxman, a BJP Parliamentary Board Member and national president of OBC Morcha, praised PM Narendra Modi’s efforts to empower women. He mentioned that the subsidy of Rs 300 on Ujjwala gas connections will now last until March 2025, as a special gift to women. Additionally, he appreciated the decision to reduce the price of non-Ujjwala gas cylinders by Rs 100 in celebration of Women’s Day.
The MP also spoke highly of Padma Sri Sudha Murthy, a newly nominated member who has made significant contributions to public health through her work with Infosys Foundation and Gates Foundation. Dr. Laxman highlighted her journey from a social worker and computer engineer to founding orphanages and supporting those in need. He expressed pride in PM Modi’s nomination of her to the Rajya Sabha under the President’s quota for her dedication to rural development, emphasizing the importance of women’s contributions to the country.
