DS refutes rumors of joining Congress and changes stance

D Srinivas, a senior Telangana leader, has clarified that he has not joined the Congress party despite attending the joining of his son, Sanjay, in the party at the Telangana Congress head office, Gandhi Bhavan. In a letter to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Srinivas explained that he accompanied his son to the event but has no intention of being involved in active politics due to his ill health. He also denied reports that Sanjay had joined the party on an assurance of receiving a party ticket for the upcoming Assembly polls. Srinivas emphasized that he is a loyal Congress supporter but wants to stay away from politics. His wife, D Vijayalaxmi, has also appealed to the Congress leadership not to bother her husband due to his poor health.
