Hyderabad: MP Eatala Rajender Warns Against Land Grabbers

Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender has called on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to take immediate action against land grabbers. Speaking on Tuesday, Rajender warned that if the issue persists, he and his party members would take matters into their own hands to address the problem.

Rajender explained that many people purchased lands in the area as far back as 1985, including employees from Warangal, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar districts. Despite court rulings in favor of the plot owners on three separate occasions, land grabbers have refused to vacate. Instead, they have resorted to violent tactics, such as assaulting rightful owners and using intimidation. Rajender alleged that goons hired by the grabbers have harassed women, damaged electric wires, and created a hostile environment for the legitimate landowners.

Addressing the media, Rajender criticized the role of officials in enabling the land encroachments. He pointed out that following the launch of the Dharani portal, District Collector Amoy Kumar allegedly allowed the registration of nine acres of land in favor of the encroachers. This, he claimed, caused fear among landowners and forced them to give up their plots. Out of a total of 2,076 plots, 206 have reportedly been taken through such means.

The situation is particularly dire in Ekasila Nagar, where there are 700 houses. Residents who apply for building permissions are being denied, and the municipality has refused to issue Land Regularisation Certificates (LRS). Rajender alleged that a real estate broker, in collusion with local leaders, has hired 100 goons and 10 dogs to intimidate the residents. These hired individuals are reportedly verbally abusing residents, with women being targeted the most.

Despite the threats, the victims have shown restraint and filed complaints at the Pocharam Police Station. However, Rajender claimed that the Sub-Inspector and Circle Inspector at the station are siding with the encroachers, ignoring the plight of the affected residents. He emphasized the need for immediate intervention to protect the rights of the landowners and restore justice in the area.
