    An elderly man named Ponna Subbarao lost consciousness on his way to collect his pension at the Secretariat in Challapalli, Avanigadda constituency of Krishna district on Wednesday. Local residents called emergency services and took him to Challapalli Government Hospital for treatment.

    Many pensioners in Andhra Pradesh are worried about delays in receiving their pension payments. This is because of restrictions imposed by election authorities after a complaint by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

    On April 2, 2024, a 70-year-old pensioner named K Venkat Rao passed away in Turangi village, Kakinada rural segment of Andhra Pradesh. The distribution of pensions in the area had been stopped by election authorities.
