The Election Commission of India (ECI) is investigating Palnadu DPO Vijayabhaskar Reddy for his role in monitoring the Macherla constituency during elections. There have been reports of violence in the area.
During the election at the Palvai Gate polling booth, YSR Congress Party MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was caught on camera destroying an EVM. However, the DPO did not report this incident to higher authorities.
As a result, TDP leaders filed a complaint against the DPO with the Election Commission. The commission has instructed Collector Balaji to conduct an inquiry and submit a report on the matter.
