Hyderabad: On Tuesday, a special event took place at Finlearn Academy where 40 students received certificates for completing a free two-month course in accounting and taxation. This training is crucial for businesses, especially in tough economic times.
Amir Ali Khan, a Member of the Legislative Council and Editor of Siasat News, spoke about the importance of financial skills for young people. He emphasized that understanding complex topics like GST and Income Tax is easier with good accounting knowledge. He pointed out that accountants are always in demand, even during lockdowns or economic downturns.
He encouraged women to consider starting their own businesses, referencing Bibi Khadija (RA), the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was a successful businesswoman 1,400 years ago. He asked, “If it was possible back then, why can’t women do it today?”
Khan also highlighted the significant drop in Muslim representation in government jobs, from 42% in 1947 to much lower numbers today. He attributed this decline to a lack of education and the unwillingness to pursue it.
He proposed creating a network of chartered accountants and finance professionals to strengthen both the field and the community. Reflecting on his first year as a council member, he mentioned skill development programs, including driver training, which saved the community around ₹23 crore.
The Chief Editor of Gawah Urdu Weekly urged graduates to work honestly and transparently, emphasizing the importance of zakat in helping the community.
Speakers praised Finlearn Academy for its practical, job-oriented approach to teaching accounting and taxation. This equips students to handle real-world financial issues, aiming for self-sufficiency in managing personal and business finances.
CA Syed Jamsheed Ahmed gave the welcome speech. Mr. Syed Khursheed Ahmed, Founder-Chairman of Finlearn Academy, praised the graduates’ enthusiasm. Mohammed Junaid Razvi, Audit Director at Ernst & Young in Saudi Arabia, commended the students for being “job ready” and encouraged them to share their knowledge widely.
