Gadwal: The development of Gadwal district is being held back due to internal political conflicts and struggles for power, said Gongalla Ranjith Kumar, District Chairman of the Nadigadda Human Rights Protection Committee (NHPS). Speaking at a press conference, he blamed both past and present governments for ignoring the region’s growth.

Ranjith Kumar stated that infighting within the ruling party is creating confusion among the people and stopping progress in the area. He pointed out that these same problems existed during the previous government too.

He mentioned a recent example from Dharur Mandal Headquarters, where a government awareness program called “Bhoobharati” was interrupted because of these political disputes. According to him, this shows how deeply the factionalism runs in the district.

He also accused local leaders of focusing more on gaining power than on helping the people. He said that they are ignoring the development needs of Nadigadda and are busy playing political games instead.

Ranjith Kumar raised concerns over a recent visit to Dharur Mandal by State Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He questioned whether official protocols are being followed equally across the state or only in certain areas like Gadwal. He suggested that there was favoritism and irregularities during the minister’s visit.

He also criticized former MLA Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy for failing to improve infrastructure in the constituency. Ranjith listed several unfinished projects, such as incomplete road works, stalled progress under the Nettempadu project, leakage issues at Ryalampadu, and the neglected Gattu lift irrigation scheme. He claimed the former MLA not only failed to complete key projects but also blocked the rise of new leaders in the area.

Ranjith didn’t spare the current Congress leadership either. He said the party’s district leaders have failed to solve internal problems or inform the party’s top leadership about them. He also referred to a speech by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a public meeting in Makthal, where the CM spoke of ending the political grip of certain families. Ranjith demanded that the CM explain and clarify his statement.

The press conference was attended by several local leaders and committee members, including NHPS District Convenor Bucchibabu, Gadwal town leader Gouni Srinivas, Yadav Nagaraju, Maldakal Mandal President Vishnu, and others from Beechupally.

The event brought attention to the growing frustration among local leaders and organizations about the lack of development in Gadwal. They collectively urged the state government to step in and address these issues quickly.
