In Gadwal, farmers and workers gathered at the old bus stand to protest under the Samyukta Kisan Morcha banner. They urged the United States to lift the 50% tariffs on Indian goods.
Gopal Yadav, State Secretary of the Farmers’ Association, and A. Venkataswamy, CITU District President, expressed concerns. They warned that these tariffs could harm India’s economy, increase prices, and worsen joblessness. In a country reliant on agriculture, these measures would severely impact farmers and workers.
The leaders emphasized India’s right to form trade agreements independently. They questioned the U.S.’s interference in India’s relations with Russia. They urged the Indian government to resist what they called “imperial arrogance” and oppose policies leading to wars and economic instability.
They promised support for government efforts to protect India’s economy and maintain foreign policy autonomy.
The protest included Sankar Prabhakar, Telangana Praja Front State Treasurer, District President Naganna, CITU District Vice-President Upper Narasimha, Farmers’ Association leaders Nagaraju and Khaja Mainuddin, CITU leader Narasimhraju, and others.
